Flowers are one of the easiest ways to start introducing foraged foods into your life, but while they may look pretty, they don’t all have the same flavor. Some are spicy like nasturtiums and some are pleasantly bitter like the daisy and sunflower. Learn about a variety of seasonal flowers and their culinary uses with an edible flower walk at the stunning flower farm, Terra Fields and Farm. TERRAIN: As a working U-Pick flower farm, this site is easy to navigate, but it does have some hills. Marshy areas near the stream mean boots are ideal. Extensive teaching gardens here are scattered to display native plants, shrubs, and trees that love marshes, hillsides, and forests. A uniquely perfect teaching site. PARKING & FACILITIES: Follow the signs for the U-Pick flower farm to the open gravel lot next to an open field. You’ll see a flower stand and chicken eggs at the entrance. Port-a-potty ONLY AVAILABLE July-Oct. WHAT ELSE TO KNOW: From July-October the U-Pick is open for business, and they sell their own eggs.
